You need to work with your employer to maintain health and safety in your workplace. If you are offered training for equipment or your job you should take it and then apply it to your job. Misuse

You must not misuse any equipment that has been provided for the benefit of your health and safety. If you have been provided with goggles, you should wear them and not damage them so as to avoid having to wear them.

Your employer will have to stop you from using the machinery and move you to another role, but it could prevent a serious injury to you, a colleague or a member of the public.
